Welcome to the blogspot of the Vietnamese Student Association at UC Berkeley's Culture Show 2007 Set Design! Whew! I hope you are all excited about the show titled "Sài Gòn Trăng Mờ " literally meaning: Saigon, Blurry Moon which is inspired by the story of famous poet Han Mac Tu.

As set designers, our responsibility is to bring the audience to another world, to engage them into the lives of the characters and to feel like they are watching from a distance not too far away and at a time not too far in the past.

However, our tast is not only to set a backdrop for the actors to act. In addition to áo dài, phở and etc...the wonderful architecture of Vietnam is also a part of our culture, and we don't want to leave it unrepresented if we are to call this year's production a true culture show that teaches and inspires. So let us work together for an experience of culture show like never before!
